The suspended mountain bike fork for Black Friday is here at RockShox: the page features complete forks, Judy, Pike, Revelation or Lyrik, and especially fork parts, stanchions, lowers, air cartridges, air pistons and seal kits. The discounts apply to both; before comparing, identify the exact model and generation of your fork.
A discount on a fork only applies to the exact version, and the RockShox names concentrate all the ratings in abbreviations. Spot them before putting two discounts side by side:
The guide to practices and ratings remains on the permanent page of suspended MTB forks.
The majority of references on the page are parts, which are not purchased like a fork. A part is valid for a specific model, a stanchion diameter, a travel range, and a generation: a Solo Air piston of 35 mm for 100 to 160 mm will not fit in a 32 mm fork. The serial number of the fork, entered in the TrailHead tool of RockShox, identifies the model and generation; parts from a Boxxer downhill, a SID cross-country, and a Judy cannot be exchanged.
Seals, oils, and service kits complete the refurbishment, among the suspension parts of the operation. At the back, the MTB shock absorbers of the operation are selected based on the frame's kinematics, and the section of suspensions in Black Friday gathers the three pages. Once the operation is complete, check the clearance sale or the new arrivals.
Rockshox, suspension brand of the Sram group, is the only one here offering forks: the Judy for leisure cross-country, the Pike and the Revelation for trail, the Lyrik for enduro, with Charger cartridges and parts from Boxxer and SID.
Fitting requires cutting the steerer to the correct length and placing the appropriate crown race for the headset. As the cut is permanent, measure twice or have it done by a workshop.
It replaces the wiper seals and foam rings that protect the stanchions from mud. When replaced at the interval recommended by RockShox, it extends the life of the stanchions and keeps a fork supple.
It’s RockShox's air spring: a single valve inflates both the positive and negative chambers at once. So the adjustment is done in one move, using a high-pressure pump.
It depends on the part. The stanchions are specific to a wheel diameter and an axle, whereas some internal parts, like Solo Air pistons advertised for 27.5 and 29 inches, can be used for both. The designation always specifies the sizes covered.
The event takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and the Black Friday discounts from Vélo-Store on forks and their parts cover the whole of November. Off-season, it's the right time to order parts for a service and put the bike out of commission.
