The Hybrid coaster is the result of over 10 years of research and development. It’s a high-quality coaster hub that offers all the benefits of a cassette hub in terms of weight, durability, and functionality. Instead of the heavy and unreliable clutch mechanism that most coaster hubs use, the Hybrid is based on the principle of a cassette hub with a few small modifications to make it an incredibly reliable and highly functional coaster hub. The hybrid coaster uses our new patented double-play system, allowing the hub to have a much larger (and adjustable) play than any previous coaster cassette system. Coupled with our Magnadrive magnetic motor for better ratchet retention, a wavy spring friction system, and a very durable heat-treated 14 mm axle, the Hybrid coaster hub is a hassle-free coaster hub designed to be tight and used without any need for adjustment or fine-tuning. Tested for years and approved by the Wethepeople team, we wanted to create a lighter, stronger, and less complicated coaster hub that any rider could easily adapt to use. As if all that wasn’t enough, the hybrid easily converts into a standard cassette hub by simply installing the cassette springs and tightening the hub. In fact, you get two hubs in one, plus the advantage of being able to change the hub to your preferred setup with ease.
