A BMX saddle in Black Friday is first chosen based on the post already mounted on the bike: top-mounted pivotal, bottom-mounted stealth, rail-mounted, or a combo that replaces the post. The discounted prices apply to slim track saddles as well as padded street models: compare them by size, mini or pro, and equal foam thickness.

Before you choose: check your seatpost

The saddle attaches to the top of the post, which determines compatible models. A pivotal post has a notched head with a hole: the classic pivotal saddle tightens using a screw that goes through the seat, while the stealth version uses a screw inserted under the post, without an opening on top. A rail post receives a saddle with rails, like the child’s BMX 301 from Selle Montegrappa. A combo, finally, provides a one-piece saddle and post: only the diameter of the frame's seat tube matters then.

Compare two discounts on the same saddle

The same saddle often appears under several references, and the promotion sometimes only applies to one of them: the Pro Padded from Insight and the Expert from Elevn come in different versions, the Mini Padded from Insight in two sizes, 165 x 108 mm and 222 x 130 mm. Compare the crossed-out price and the displayed price at the same size, fitting, and padding. At Kink, the mention thick padding indicates a thick foam: it changes sitting comfort, not the fitting.

BMX saddle brands in the operation

Elevn, a brand dedicated to BMX racing, reserves its pivotal saddles Expert, Racing, and Full Logo for the track.

Insight follows the progression of race riders, from the Combo Mini and the Mini to the padded Pro Padded model.

Tioga manufactures the D-Spyder Original, a pivotal BMX racing saddle with a composite shell, and the Spyder Stratum Carbon, a saddle with rails.

Kink BMX, a freestyle brand from Rochester, New York, features its saddles in the stealth system: the Williams, Nathan Williams' signature in corduroy, the Chinaski II, and the Impression with thick foam.

Other useful pages

The permanent page for BMX saddles details slim, mid, and fat profiles and seat adjustment. During the operation, if your post doesn’t fit the chosen saddle, check out the BMX seatposts from Black Friday; other contact points can be found on the grips. Discounted MTB saddles also have their dedicated page, and clearance models are featured in the clearance.

Frequently asked questions

Can a stealth saddle fit on a classic pivotal post?

Yes, as long as you have a longer hex key than the post, since the screw tightens from underneath. Conversely, a stealth post can accept a regular pivotal saddle.

How to choose a BMX saddle as a gift without getting it wrong?

Take a photo of the seatpost head on the bike: a notched head with a hole calls for a pivotal saddle, while a rail attaches to a saddle with rails. For a combo, measure the diameter of the installed post or read it, engraved on the post.

When does Black Friday take place?

On the day after Thanksgiving, in the US as well as in France. Vélo-Store makes this Friday the highlight of its Black Friday discounts, which continue throughout November; this page lists the relevant BMX saddles.

Slim or padded saddle for BMX?

In racing, a slim and light saddle is sufficient: you barely touch it on the track. In street or park, thicker foam cushions the seating impacts and figures where the saddle serves as a point of support.

Can a MTB saddle fit on a BMX?

A rail saddle for MTB can fit on a rail post, but it is longer and higher than a BMX saddle, which can be awkward when the bike moves under the rider. On a pivotal post, it won’t fit.
