BMX parts for the Black Friday cover everything that steers the bike and supports the rider, from the forks to the handlebars, grips to pedals, and seat to pegs, each category on its own page. Discounts are assessed equally: take note of the handlebar diameter, seat attachment system, and Mini, Junior, or Pro size of your bike before comparing two crossed-out prices.
In BMX, a promotion displayed under a model name does not always specify which version it is: Mini/Junior stem or Pro, different height handlebars for the same model, just the seat or a combo with its post, 20 or 24 inch forks. The product sheet also specifies the unit of sale: grips and pedals are sold by pair, pegs are sold individually or in pairs depending on the model, and a number plate does not always include letters and numbers. The crossed-out price only distinguishes between two offers once these points are identical, with anodized colour as a last consideration.
The permanent page for BMX components showcases these same categories throughout the year. During the event, the rest of the bike can be found in BMX transmission, wheels, and braking, rider gear in helmets, and all BMX sections on the BMX Black Friday page. For another bike, check out MTB components or all-purpose components; outside the event, look at clearance and new arrivals.
Yes, the use of plates is mandatory in all competitions held under the regulations of the French Cycling Federation. The colour of the background and numbers depends on the rider's category, and your club will inform you of the required combination.
The big moment is the Friday following Thanksgiving, but Vélo-Store's Black Friday discounts on BMX parts continue throughout November. Use this opportunity to take apart the part to be replaced and check its measurements: a handlebar or stem is chosen down to the millimetre.
In freestyle, flat pedals with pins are the norm. In race, federal regulations only allow clipless pedals in competition from the U15 category, which means for riders aged 13 and older; toe clips and straps remain banned in all categories.
The Pivotal clamps the seat with a single screw that goes through the base and locks a notched head post: compact and lightweight, it's the most common system in BMX. A rail seat requires a standard post; combos that combine seat and post simplify equipping small bikes.
Some can, yes: flat pedals threaded in 9/16 inches, for example. The handlebars and stem, however, have different diameters, 22.2 mm on most BMX versus 31.8 or 35 mm on current MTBs, and an MTB fork does not match the wheel or geometry of a BMX.
